One thing we love about watching football on TV is that there aren't the long, drawn out commercial breaks that are such a pain while watching other sports. And when it is commercial time, we here at Bookable Offense are big fans of fast-forwarding past them with the old Tivo, when possible. But one of the fun things about World Cup time is that we're introduced to a wide array of creative new ads. With a month to go before the games begin, we're starting to see our friends at Nike, adidas, and the like coming out with some creative stuff.

So, we thought we'd share with you a couple of good new football-related ads. Enjoy.

adidas - "Jose +10"
Two young lads get to play in a dream pickup game featuring adidas' top stars. Even today's stars are taken by surprise with some of the guys who show up to play.

Gatorade - Take Me Out to the Ballgame
This creative ad - one of my favorites - is a montage of clips highlighting the not-always-glamorous experiences of the US National Team, set to a instrumental rendition of baseball's "Take Me Out to the Ballgame." Be sure to check out the "Yankees Go Home" sign in the crowd and the shaking roof in the locker room. Good stuff.

ESPN - Shevchenko
Not always the biggest football enthusiasts, American sports cable network ESPN puts together a funny ad about the whole football/soccer thing featuring AC Milan star
Andriy Shevchenko.

Nike - Joga Bonito: Brazil
Here's the extended version showing the Brazilians getting ready for a game. The scary part is that this is probably what actually happens in their dressing room.

Nike - Joga Bonito: Ibrahimovich vs Cristiano Ronaldo
Sweden's Zlatan Ibrohimovich and Portugal's Cristiano Ronaldo engage in a different kind of duel.

Reebok - Ryan Giggs' Garden
Wales star Ryan Giggs will probably never get to play in a World Cup, but he can dream on.
